Video still
Choregraphed and performed by Julia Martin
Documentation by Frank Wardenclyffe
On the shore of Seydisfjordur, Iceland, performer Julia Martin attempts to communicate with gyrfalcons. Gyrfalcons are resident to Iceland and prized in falconry. Based on the ancient Roman practice of augury, Martin dances to summon a sign from these birds of prey. This work concerns themes of connection, communication and interpretation.
